WORK FOR IMPACT

Community Response Fund

Our Community Response Fund exists to support the needs of people and communities impacted by disasters, including wildfires, heat, smoke, flooding, storms, and any other emergent needs. This fund is activated when needs arise.

COVID-19 Response

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, it became clear that emergent disasters had detrimental impacts on kids and families in our community. In order to support our vision for kids’ success, we knew we needed to focus on the basic foundation for that success - safety and stability. Between 202-2022, United Way invested $1,510,500 in COVID-19 grants to over 110 programs and initiatives in Lane County, providing rent assistance, food access, parental support, mental and telehealth services, and more.

Wildfire Response

In September 2020, the Holiday Farm Fire burned over 170,000 acres in Oregon’s McKenzie Valley, devastating communities such as Blue River, Nimrod, Vida, and the surrounding watershed. As the fire spread, thousands were evacuated and hundreds of people lost their homes, businesses, and livelihoods. United Way of Lane County responded with what it does best: raising and leveraging resources to support programs and people on the frontlines of a crisis.
