Nurturing Parenting Curriculum Training

In working towards their goal to expand the availability of parenting education for parents in Lane County, our Parenting Education Hub, LaneKids, recently held a Nurturing Parenting curriculum training for parent educators from across Oregon.

12 of the 27 participants were Lane County locals and came from a variety of our partner organizations including Centro Latino Americano, the Indian Education Program, Downtown Languages, Creswell School District, and Marcola School District.

The Nurturing Parenting Programs are a family-centered trauma-informed initiative designed to build nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglecting parenting and child-rearing practices. For more information about this curriculum, visit their website here.

LaneKids has a goal of holding two more parenting education curriculum trainings throughout the year – one in Incredible Years and one in Make Parenting A Pleasure. If you or someone from your agency is interested in sending someone to these trainings, please contact Taylor Ludtke, Parenting Education Hub Coordinator (tludtke@unitedwaylane.org) for more information.
