LaneKids is Lane County’s Parenting Education Hub and the parenting education face of the Lane Early Learning Alliance. The LaneKids network of parenting education providers and stakeholders brought together by United Way of Lane County aims to strengthen Lane County’s system of parenting education programs, information, and support for all families.

LaneKids, in its 5th year of existence, has funded over 300 evidence based parenting education classes, affecting more than 250 parent and child attendees.  These parenting education classes are offered in both English and Spanish and take place all over Lane County including Cottage Grove, Florence, Marcola, Oakridge, McKenzie, Eugene, and Springfield.

LaneKids has been continuously growing in the number of parenting education series it funds as well as families being reached since its birth in 2010.  In 2016 alone, there will be a total of 14 LaneKids funded parenting education series (approximately 170 classes) happening throughout the county that are predicted to serve more than 200 parents and children, nearly doubling their reach thus far.

The LaneKids website – LaneKids.org – is a bilingual site that serves as a “go to” place for parents where they can find locally relevant parenting blogs and articles, a community events calendar that lists all things “for families” happening in Lane County, as well as be connected to parenting education and other community resources.

Soon to come, thanks to a partnership between LaneKids and Trillium, (Lane County’s local Community Care Organization) will be an online parenting education series located on LaneKids.org website called Triple P – Positive Parenting Program that Oregon Health Plan members can access for free as well as LaneKids information provided at local well child checkups.
