There is a moment that changes a child’s possible future. It’s the moment that they stop learning to read and start reading to learn. When a child enters third grade, they need to be prepared to make this important transition but too many children in our community lack the access to books early enough in their lives to build the early literacy skills they need to succeed.

Help us write a new story of Lane County's children.

Let's eliminate barriers children face in learning to read by donating books and making reading a right.

Donate Books: Bring new or gently used books for children, infants through twelve years old, in English or Spanish to United Way.

Donate Money: Cash or checks (made payable to United Way of Lane County). 100% of donations will be used to buy wholesale books.

Purchase Online: Books on our Amazon wish list to be directly shipped to United Way of Lane County. http://ow.ly/KjzmN

Host a Book Drive: Host a book drive in your organization. Download the toolkit for everything you need.

Volunteer: Read to kids in the park this summer at Summer Reading Spots across Lane County.
