School-Based Health Centers
4J operates three school-based health centers located at Sheldon, North Eugene and South Eugene High Schools. The centers are staffed with a school nurse, health assistant, nurse practitioner and mental health therapist. The health centers handle most health issues, including illnesses, injuries, well child physicals, immunizations, and ongoing health problems. The centers also provide mental health counseling for depression, anger management, attention and focusing challenges, family stress and change, anxiety, substance abuse. The Community Centers of Lane County operates the fourth health center at Churchill High School. The Bethel Student Health Center, located in Cascade Middle School, is the new home for health care for all Bethel students, their minor siblings, the children of Bethel students, and Bethel Head Start students.
South Lane Mental Health is a non-profit community mental health organization serving the greater Cottage Grove, Oregon region. Since 1988, South Lane Mental Health has been committed to helping people affected by mental illness and emotional problems better understand their condition and take steps toward recovery and living independently and productively in the community.
Volunteers In Medicine (VIM) provides a free, comprehensive program of primary care, mental health services, prescription assistance, laboratory services, and women's health care to low-income Lane County adults who have no health insurance and are ineligible for government health care programs.
