2013 Volunteer of the Year
The ninth annual Volunteer of the Year Awards luncheon held on April 18, 2013 proved to be full of inspiration. The event, a partnership with The Register-Guard, is the culmination of a year of encouraging and recognizing extraordinary volunteers in Lane County.
Yessenia Carlos was chosen as 2013 Volunteer of the Year for her volunteer efforts at Willamalane Parks and Recreation where she volunteers in the office and assists with special events. The Springfield High School senior, a member of National Honor Society, was also honored for her work combating bullying and racism.
More than 275 attendees honored twenty-four individuals and groups who volunteered throughout Lane County. Awards by category include:
