The mission of the Women & Philanthropy Initiative is to create a powerful leadership network of women who strengthen our community through a focused investment of time, talent and treasure.
The H.O.P.E. Project
Helping Open Doors By Preparing and Empowering Young Women
Women & Philanthropy’s pilot project is a three year collaborative designed to support girls in foster care to make a successful transition into adulthood and independence.

Service Objectives:
- Match each young woman with an individual mentor for three years.
- Provide financial literacy, money management classes, management of Individual Development Accounts (IDA) and a 2:1 savings match for a specific goal.
- Provide education on healthy body image, healthy relationships and sexuality issues.
- Provide supportive case management and independent living skills. Young women will acquire knowledge and skills about school and career achievement, housing awareness, transportation, employment, community resources and supportive relationships.
- Provide team-building and interactive activites for mentors and young women.
- Stimulate community awareness and learning, coordinate group volunteer opportunities, provide opportunities for cultural and physical activities that may not be accessible to the young women.

Members of the Women & Philanthropy Initiative give gifts of $1,500 or more and are asked to dedicate at least $500 of their gift to the Women & Philanthropy Fund. Members of WINGs (Women's Initiative Next Generation - 40 years and under) give gifts of $750 or more and are asked to dedicate at least $250 of their gift to the Women & Philanthropy Fund. Fund dollars support Women & Philanthropy's H.O.P.E. Project.
