United Way of Lane County
United Way — Live United
Annual Campaign
The 2009 Campaign was launched on Sept. 10, 2009 by announcing our biggest campaign goal ever - $5 million and one dollar! (Click here for giving information.)
Even in the midst of a recession we are being more optimistic than ever. Why? Because the needs have never been greater and our vision for the future has never been brighter. We’ve announced bold 10-year goals for United Way of Lane County’s “Decade of Change” and by 2020 we will reach the following goals:
EDUCATION: Preparing children to succeed in school and life
By 2020 the majority of children enter kindergarten in Lane County will demonstrate basic literacy and social/emotional development so they can reach their greatest potential through education.
INCOME: Moving families from poverty to financial stability
By 2020 an increased percentage of low-wage households will increase their assets and financial literacy in order to be able to pay the bills in the event of a sudden loss of income.
HEALTH: Ensuring people have access to basic health care
By 2020 15,000 uninsured Lane County residents will be connected to a community-based system of timely, affordable health care
