Volunteer of the Month
In a partnership with our local newspaper The Register-Guard, United Way of Lane County acknowledges Lane County volunteers through the Volunteer of the Month program.
A volunteer committee (of course!) reviews monthly nominations and selects one person to be featured in the monthly newspaper feature entitled “Community Solutions: A Call to Action for Volunteers.” Click here for a recent example.
The program culminates with the annual Volunteer of the Year Awards which, in 2007, was held on (date). The 2007 Volunteer of the Year winner was Sister Monica Heeron of Volunteers in Medicine. Click here for a picture of Sister Monica and a description of her extraordinary service to others.
It’s easy to submit a Volunteer of the Month nomination form. Click here to download the form and submit via mail or fax or you may click here for our interactive pdf form that will be submitted via email to Megan O'Connor, Director of Volunteer Development.
